This is amazing. Thank you.

Again, there should be no confusion. I say I’m using Stretch. There’s a conversation about how old Stretch is where I talk about when the next version, Buster, was released.

Well – assuming we are both right – the good news is, once I can upgrade, the games will start working.

Out of the 30 or so games I’ve so far downloaded from the bundle only five or six have the issue. It’s not the end of the world.

Although it makes me less inclined to try Unity myself in future. Think I’ll stick to Love or maybe Godot.

No confusion. Buster was released on 6th July 2019 – not quite a year ago, as I said.

I’m guessing that you are right about that being the cause of the problem. Does anyone here have any specific experience and know for sure?

Unfortunately I use my computer for a lot of things, not just games, so I can’t always upgrade right away. Less than a year is hardly an “older machine”, at least outside of gaming circles…

I’ve bought the BLM bundle (oh my, it’s like ten christmasses. Deep joy.) But I’m noticing a problem with quite a few of the Unity games – missing assets.

I’m running Debian Stretch. That’s not quite a year old, now. Could that be why – my libraries are out of date? Can any other Linux-people here tell me what is going on?

In Lingotopia, for example, the buttons are all black, and the background and all the characters render as entirely black too.

Just so you know: I’ve got some sort of Unity issue when I run this game which makes it unplayable. The background and most of the assets are rendering as black, including the fonts.

I’m guessing that this might be because I am running Debian 9? If I’m right, might be an idea to bear this in mind next time; if you’re going to make games as cool as this, lots of folks will be sad to be missing out by not having the most up-to-date system…
